Why I Love Tae Gong Gak Inn & Guesthouse, Jeju

“Ok anot one our hostel in Jeju?”

“A lot of good reviews on TripAdvisor, confirm okay methinks.”

That’s how we ended up at Tae Gong Gak, our accommodation in Jeju Island.

Tae Gong Gak is located on the south of Jeju island, hence the bus right from the airport took us 1 hour 15 minutes. Get down at the K Hotel stop and just continue walking till you see a giant TGG sign. And damn Jeju is hugeeeee, we thought it was like Langkawi but boy were we wrong.

So why do I love Tae Gong Gak?

Comfortable Rooms

Since there’s 4 of us, we took the room with 2 queen bed with attached bathroom. There’s no lift here, but Peter and his staff gladly carried our luggages up to third floor.

Well Equipped Pantry

Every morning, Sylvia will replenish eggs, fruits, bread and cereals for us. On top of that, there’s yoghurt, instant noodles, coffee and tea just in case you get hungry in the middle of the night. Look at our pretty breakfast. 😀 The kitchen is also opened 24 hours.

Sylvia & Peter

Everyone on TripAdvisor have been praising Sylvia on her hospitality, and needless to say, we experienced them ourselves. She even took pictures of us ahaha.

“How ah? We haven’t plan Jeju’s itinerary.”

“Errr, let’s ask Tae Gong Gak?”

When you check in, a Jeju guidebook and map will be presented to you so that you can list down where you want to go. Then, Sylvia will personally book a taxi for you for a day tour.

The Location

The guesthouse is also located at a prime location, and Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is around 20 minutes walk.

It is near restaurants, bars and entertainment streets.

And the famous restaurant serving abalone porridge (Su Hi Sik Dang) is just 5 minutes walk away. Please order the fish! It’s Red Tilefish, not bluetail fish hahaha sorrrry.

Talk about convenience eh?

To make a booking, just head to Tae Gong Gak’s website and reserve from there. You will need to send your inbound airplane tickets to Jeju for booking, and pay when you reach the guesthouse. Paying by credit card incur 10% extra charges so it’s best to pay by cash.
