My first complete hostel experience was when I went to Canada with Hosteling International. The idea of hostel was very foreign to me but after experiencing it, I loved it! Plus it’s cheaper and you get to meet people from all over the world.
Back to Cameron Highlands, our stay in Westwood Highland was short and sweet. This place belonged to my colleague’s friend so we had no qualms about staying here.
The beauty of this place is that is it built by the owner himself. Hence, the whole place is pretty unique with great design and architecture. I especially loved that turquoise wall and wood furnitures.
We only paid RM60 each for our dorm rooms. Pillows and duvets are provided and I had a good night sleep. Not sure if I was too tired of the hike or what. Ahaha. But do remember to bring your own towel and toiletries.
Breakfast is included with no frill items like cereals, bread, milk and eggs where you could make use of the kitchen to whip up a meal. We just made simple toast with sunny side ups, and cereals.
The best part of this place are the flower beds around the guesthouse. If you stay upstairs, you’ll be greeted by flowers. So pretty I cannot!
There is also an outdoor treehouse for you to chill, hang out…
… or play stupid games.
Will definitely stay here if I ever go to Cameron Highlands again. Ok bai!
To get here by car, just waze for Westwood Highland (4 33’13″N 101 24’47″E) or the owner can pick you up at the bus stops depending where you come from.
